Support person work provides a child, young person or family with a safe and reliable adult who brings continuity, support and companionship to everyday life. The work is based on regular meetings and clearly defined objectives.

Support worker work is particularly suited to situations where lighter but regular support is needed as part of the overall out-of-home care system. The work is carried out in cooperation with the social work department and proceeds according to an agreed plan.
