Vilma Jokinen

Bachelor of Social Sciences, Cognitive Brief Therapist, Psychotherapist, Psychotherapist op. valm.2028
Vilma has trained as a cognitive brief therapist alongside her work, and she also has psychotherapeutic skills. Currently, Vilma is furthering her knowledge in psychotherapy training, with a focus on couple and family psychotherapy. Vilma has worked in a variety of fields in child protection, including foster care, family work, professional support worker work and meeting services. She has several years of experience working as a private service provider in out-of-home care family work. Vilma’s work is guided by a resource-oriented and therapeutic approach. It is important for her to treat each client individually, respecting their life story and building on respectful and genuine interaction. Empathic encounter and a safe atmosphere are at the heart of her work. In her work, Vilma uses her extensive methodological knowledge from her social worker training and brief therapeutic working methods. Working together allows her to explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours and their interconnections. At the same time, the parent’s ability to understand both their own and their child’s experience is strengthened. If necessary, Vilma also brings in creative methods, such as ceramic elements, which can support expression and working in different ways.
